Brassneck Theatre Company
The People’s Panto

A BIT OF BACKGROUND

For 17 years now, Brassneck Theatre Company have been producing quality, professional theatre contributing to the re-imaging of West Belfast, endeavouring to break the pre-conceptions that exist about this part of our city in a positive, creative manner. Our Youth Company also offers quality, accessible performing arts training to over 100 disadvantaged children and young people every week.

Our primary aim is to advance public understanding as well as access to the arts by producing educational and professional, community-based performances which tour locally, nationally and internationally.

Primarily producing new theatre works, we also provide accessible opportunities for children and young people in the performing arts while providing equal employment opportunities for all.

SPONSORSHIP DETAILS

‘The People’s Panto’, is an innovative project which seeks to improve access to the arts during the festive period for families from disadvantaged communities.

In 2023, our launched our inaugural ‘People’s Panto’ project with a twist on ‘Cinderella’ by Neil Keery. With the added strain of the current cost-of-living crisis, we saw this as an essential opportunity to help improve inclusion in the arts at an already extremely expensive time of year. We did this by offering extremely low-price tickets and housing the project in a local, community venue, rather than a traditional theatre.

This empowering project made a real difference to over 2000 adults and children from local communities and schools. We also provided special performances for adults with disabilities and dementia.

In December 2024, the project will return, this time to St Comgall’s, Belfast with a twist on ‘Sleeping Beauty’, as we expand to a larger venue in an area that will be accessible to even more children and families from some of the most deprived postcodes in Belfast.

Sponsorship would help us to ensure the impact of this incredible project reaches as many families, children and people in need as possible. Partners would benefit from advertising in programmes and content both online and offline which could reach up to 5,000 people across Belfast, as well as tickets for them and their employees to see the play.
