A BIT OF BACKGROUND

Bruiser Theatre Company is one of Northern Ireland's most vibrant and successful arts organisations. Founded in 1997 and based in Belfast, Bruiser produces theatre that is exciting and innovative, down to earth and accessible to all.

We aim to use minimal set for maximum impact, whilst further exploring the notion of the actor as the centre of the action, enforcing them as the main mechanism of performance. This approach is echoed in all of our productions, and is the central artistic premise in all our work. We're dedicated to providing training and development opportunities to young actors through our various education and engagement programmes.

UPCOMING PROJECTS

WASTED
Each year we bring a professional show, our 'Bruiser in a Box' to post-primary schools across Northern Ireland. This September, partnering with Nexus NI - the leading charity in supporting victims of sexual abuse, we will bring 'Wasted' by local writer Kat Woods around schools as well as youth and community centres. By sparking conversation we hope to educate young people on how to keep themselves and their peers safe.

THE BRUSIER ARTS ACADEMY
Now well into its second decade, the Arts Academy is an essential part of any young actor's training. During the course, we focus on enhancing performance skills and professional development, equipping our students to perform at the best of their ability. The Arts Academy is comprised of:

The START Academy 12+
The Bruiser Summer School 14+
The Graduate Academy 18+

WEEKLY CLASSES
We also offer The Bruiser Weekly Classes - Professional development for young people in the arts! Participants will experience visually exciting, rhythmic, choral and choreographic elements for which Bruiser is renowned.

THE SHARING FESTIVAL
We are delighted to announce the 'Sharing Festival', a new performance opportunity which demonstrates the excellence and highest standard of practical work across schools in Northern Ireland. We welcome schools studying the Bruiser style, techniques and ethos to perform in a showcase of performance excellence.

A DAY WITH BRUISER
A Day With Bruiser is a full-day crash course for Drama students across Northern Ireland. It is an opportunity to get to grips with and explore Bruiser's unique physical theatre style. These full-day events are aimed at KS3, GCSE, AS, A2 Level and BTEC students studying Drama, Performing Arts and Theatre courses.

Sponsorship Opportunities

There are a number of ways that your business can support Bruiser's exciting programme of events.

By sponsoring our new production Wasted, businesses can get involved with an important project that supports young people to challenge the issues facing them today. As a lead sponsor, corporate branding will be displayed on all promotional materials and show programmes.

We are also looking for sponsorship for our summer Arts Academy. By supporting this project, Bruiser can provide the very best training and development opportunities to young people from across Northern Ireland.
