EastSide Arts: Making East Belfast a Better Place

A BIT OF BACKGROUND

EastSide Arts is a small but ambitious organisation, responsible for, amongst other memorable events, the iconic ‘Van Morrison on Cyprus Avenue’ concerts in 2015. Their aim is to celebrate the legends of the east, but also to shine a light on the emerging talent of this part of the city and encourage residents and visitors across Belfast and beyond to explore the vibrant arts and culture that EastSide has to offer. Through a year-round creative programme they reach approximately 20,000-25,000 people from a diverse range of backgrounds, ages and ethnicities –

• EastSide Choir weekly rehearsals and quarterly public performances

• Big Kids’ Society monthly creative socials

• Artful Ageing programme for older and more isolated residents

• The HOME Project intercultural artist development programme

• EastSide Arts Festival 11-day multi-artform community festival

• Prophets, Makers & Risk Takers two-day festival to support local writers

They are proud to be part of the EastSide Partnership, a regeneration organisation that has been creating positive change in east Belfast for 25 years.

SPONSORSHIP DETAILS

EastSide Arts have strong support from funders and sponsors that have invested in the growth of the organisation because they understand and value the many benefits that it brings to the local community. We are expanding our offering and are eager to invite new partners to become part of this year’s programme. We believe that partnership with EastSide Arts brings the following benefits:

• Association with a very well-respected regeneration charity that has been ‘making east Belfast a better place’ for more than 25 years

• The opportunity to connect with the multiple communities that we work with across east Belfast, from the most affluent to the most deprived

• Recognition for supporting the Arts Sector which is acknowledged to be under-resourced, and artists, who in particular have suffered dramatic loss of income due to the pandemic

• Association with the EastSide Partnership values; Alleviating poverty and disadvantage, Entrepreneurship, Economic Sustainability, Environmental Responsibility, Respect for heritage, Inclusivity and Collaborative working.
