MUSIC AT THE CRESCENT ARTS CENTRE
A BIT OF BACKGROUND
As part of our Creative Learning programme, The Crescent runs Rock Band Junior (7-11 yrs) and Rock Band Senior (12-17 yrs). Lead in weekly sessions by professional musician Gary Lutton, students work together on guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard and singing to practice towards a performance for friends and family in The Crescent’s ‘Cube’ with full staging, lights and sound. The Crescent currently operates both Rock Bands at a loss with a low joining fee (£8/hr on average), additional tutor (to allow attendance without parental supervision in compliance with Safeguarding) and a free final performance.
We continue because it’s loved by participants in a way that aligns with project/organisational ambitions:
