PARTICIPATE: Providing a creative resource promoting autonomy and artistic self-expression for communities across Northern Ireland with trust and collaboration at its heart.

WORLD PREMIERE OF AURORA

In October-November 2024 Prime Cut Productions will present the World Premiere of Aurora, by critically acclaimed playwright Dominic Montague Downstairs at the MAC as part of Belfast International Arts Festival, with further performances at An Grianan Theatre, Letterkenny and Project Arts Centre, Dublin to anticipated audiences of over 5000 in its initial run.

Aurora is an ambitious, destination theatre production, featuring a cast and creative team of some of Northern Ireland’s finest artists and showcasing an innovative collaboration with Ulster University’s Games and Animation Dept. Fusing digital and gaming technology with live large-scale theatre this vital new work explores our relationship with our environment, and humanity’s compulsion to monetise this. The design aspects of the play are envisaged as completely sustainable and environmentally friendly as well as being technologically advanced and innovative, drawing audiences from across Belfast and far beyond. This is a show for people of all ages, especially those interested in climate change, environmentalism, new writing, animation and comedy drama.

Any marketing/engagement activity that utilises print materials to be handed out (flyers, etc) will be made from recycled, biodegradable, materials that have wild seeds embedded within them. We will ask audiences to take a flyer, book a ticket, bury this leaflet and watch nature take over.
