NI OPERA

A BIT OF BACKGROUND

Northern Ireland Opera are the award-winning national opera company of Northern Ireland, dedicated to the highest standards of opera performance and the development of young talent. Founded in 2010, the company’s energy, ideas and high artistic standards have led to both national critical acclaim and an international profile.

We are looking for sponsorship for the following projects:

Headline Sponsorship or a Sponsorship Contribution for our Major Productions

You would be supporting flagship productions in the Grand Opera House and/or the Lyric Theatre, which get national and international recognition, five-star reviews, huge audience responses and which employ and develop local artists who would otherwise not have the opportunity to perform at this level in their home country.

Your branding would be prominently visible to audiences who attend from across Northern Ireland but also from GB and the Republic of Ireland too. There are plenty of direct benefits to sponsorship to your company ranging from tickets to private events, behind-the-scenes access and/or outreach activities delivered in-house to your staff or clients by our artists.

Your funding would help the national opera company to continue to deliver world-class productions on the local stage, providing a magical and memorable experience for our audiences and demonstrating through coverage in the national press that Northern Ireland is a cultural destination which punches well above its weight artistically. For companies encouraging relocation, these productions help demonstrate there are affordable cultural experiences here which equal or surpass other capital cities and hubs.

Your sponsorship would help support all the associated community outreach projects we deliver to schools, youth and community groups around these productions, helping us bring 1000 people from community groups to see a dress rehearsal and benefitting up to 200 artists, musicians, creatives and technicians who are employed across both the GOH and Lyric shows.

In-Kind Sponsorship by Providing Free or Subsidised Warehouse Space

Without our own venue, it is costly for us to rent sufficient space for rehearsal for major productions. This in-kind sponsorship makes it possible for us to get to opening night in the best possible position to deliver a seamless performance.

In return for sponsorship, we could provide tickets, branding on our website and promotional material and a visit to the rehearsal space to meet the cast and director for the sponsor or take part in a ‘Come and Sing’ event.

Sponsorship for our New Creative Outreach Programme

Exploring storytelling through the skills required to put on an opera – singing, writing, costume and set design, movement and dance – this is a flexible programme which can take the form of an afternoon pop-up taster event, or a six-week interactive course, depending on the groups involved.

Sponsorship will support us taking this programme to schools, older people, cross-community groups and youth groups. We can also bring this programme into your organisation too – it is designed to be adaptable and can be formatted to suit corporate ‘away-day’ and team bonding sessions. Using a range of skills, participants work together to tell their story through a variety of skills and techniques which will challenge and reward participants as the programme progresses.
